Aerial Imaging Australia captures commissioned aerial images anywhere in Australia — from single high-resolution photographs of a property to full orthomosaic maps built from thousands of georeferenced frames. Based in Melbourne, flying Victoria weekly and interstate by arrangement.
Aerial images, two ways
Aerial photography is the image as a picture: your property, project or site from the air, composed and edited — for marketing, records, reports and publications. Aerial imaging is the picture as data: every frame georeferenced, flown to a plan, and processed into measurable products — orthomosaics you can scale off, elevation models, and repeatable captures that show change over time. We do both; knowing which one you actually need is usually the first thing we help with.
What people commission
- Aerial images of a property — current, high-resolution, yours to keep. Popular with owners, agents and buyers wanting the full block, not a satellite tile from two years ago.
- Site and project imagery — construction progress, industrial sites, farms and orchards, environmental works, captured on a schedule.
- Measurable mapping — orthomosaic maps and elevation models when the image needs to be data, not just a view.
- Independent records — dated, metadata-intact site documentation for legal, insurance and compliance use.
Why commissioned beats stock or satellite
Free satellite imagery is months to years old and tops out around 15–30 cm per pixel. A commissioned drone capture is today, at 1–3 cm per pixel, flown for your purpose, with the copyright licence you need. If you’re comparing options for older imagery, see our guide to finding historical aerial images in Australia.
Victoria first, Australia wide
We’re Melbourne-based — most aerial images we deliver are captured across greater Melbourne, regional Victoria and the south-east corridor — and we fly interstate for projects that justify it. CASA-licensed, insured, airspace approvals handled per job.
Request aerial images of your site — send the address and what you need; we’ll confirm what’s flyable and quote same day.
