The deliverable

  • High-resolution obliques of the damage and its context — roof, elevations, surrounds — captured without anyone leaving the ground.
  • An orthomosaic of the site: one to-scale, measurable image on which damage extent, tarped areas, debris fields and access can be measured rather than estimated.
  • Metadata-intact originals with a file-integrity ledger, and a short written capture methodology — so the record stands up if the claim is later disputed.
  • Optional thermal capture where moisture ingress or concealed damage is in question.

Why aerial, specifically

Roof damage assessed from a ladder line is an estimate. An aerial capture records the entire roof plane in one pass — every ridge, valley and penetration — safely, and creates the same quality of record for the neighbouring properties’ condition, which matters when causation is contested. For storm and hail events, the capture also documents what was not damaged, which closes off scope creep later.
